Commercial sources are a great way to get the extra features that an open source might not have. However, commercial sources need to be purchased and not every student might have the financial stability to be able to afford it. Open sources however are readily available from anywhere the student might have access to the internet and its features are free, however if they want more premium features than they might have to purchase it or upgrade for a cost.
In my research, I found that Adobe Connect is the most user friendly and it has a 30 day free trial before making a decision to purchase it or not. Another that I found to be interesting is Cisco Webex. It has some good features and it’s also user friendly. It also has a 30 day free trial. These two systems have almost the same features of meeting and users being able to join anytime, and also a productivity counter.
Cisco Webex- gives you the ability to deliver webinars, online training, remote technical support, share and deliver ideas and more.
Adobe Connect- gives you the ability to video conference and integrated video conferencing, real time collaboration, break out rooms to focus conferencing, invitation management and more.
If I had to choose one I would definitely choose Adobe Connect because of the many options that it has that I am able to do from a desktop however if I wanted to do things remotely Cisco Webex works best.
